Travel Note
We are so excited to share Oahu with you. It’s one of those places that has completely different energy depending on where you are — and that’s part of what makes it so special! Our ceremony will take place in Waikīkī (Honolulu), followed by our reception at Dillingham Ranch on the North Shore. The drive between Waikīkī and the North Shore is about 45 minutes, which makes it very doable — and also means you’ll get to see more of the island along the way. We are planning to provide shuttle transportation from Waikīkī to the reception and a return shuttle at the end of the evening. More details will be shared closer to the wedding, and seats may be limited. Guests are absolutely welcome to drive themselves to the reception. Cars may be left overnight at the venue, but must be picked up by 10:00 AM the following morning. We highly recommend renting a car during your stay. While Uber and Lyft are available, they can be less reliable outside of Honolulu and later at night. Having your own car will give you the freedom to explore the island easily. Waikīkī has more of the classic beach resort feel. It’s lively, walkable, and close to shopping, restaurants, nightlife, and well-known spots like Pearl Harbor and Diamond Head. There are many hotel options, and everything is very convenient. If you enjoy being in the center of things, this is a great place to stay. The North Shore is quieter, slower, and more laid-back. Think surf town energy, open beaches, food trucks, and country roads. This is our favorite side of the island. It feels more local and relaxed, but it is also more spread out. There are limited hotels, so Airbnb and VRBO tend to be the best options here. No matter where you stay, you’ll be able to experience both sides of the island — and we hope you take the time to explore it all while you’re here! We truly cannot wait to have everyone we love on our favorite island!
Flight
We recommend you fly into Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) in Honolulu. The airport is about 20 minutes from Waikīkī, making arrivals and departures very easy.
Rental Car
Rental cars are available directly at the airport, and we highly recommend reserving one for your stay so you can explore the island freely and move around with ease. Trust us — you’ll want the flexibility. We’ve consistently found the best pricing through Costco Travel and Turo
