Laura and Wes met through their amazing friends, Adam, Leila and Samantha (it's been debated who ultimately gets the credit, but to be fair -- it was all of them)! Laura was living in St. Augustine, Florida at the time, while Wes was a couple hours north in Savannah, Georgia. After spending a summer of trips back and forth in these charming southern cities, Wes and Laura decided it was time for a change of scenery. One that included changing autumn leaves to match Wes's favorite season: football season. They ended up landing jobs 2 blocks from each other and finding a cozy (aka small, 700 sq ft) apartment in downtown Washington, D.C. The Nation's Capital has proved to be a great move, especially with their favorite food of sushi just a phone call away. As if life in D.C. wasn't exciting enough, Wes surprised Laura with a trip to France in February of 2017. They spent 3 days in Paris and 3 days in the south of France, exploring Nice. On the second to last day of the trip, Wes gave Laura the ultimate surprise at the top of the medieval village of Èze . While Laura was distracted by her normal search for food, Wes was nervously trying to figure out when the right moment was to the pop the question. Before Laura passed out from hunger, Wes found a gorgeous vista overlooking the Côte d'Azur and asked, "Will you marry me?" I think you know how the rest of the story goes!
