Austin's main art museum (right next to Rachel's parking garage). See some great pieces by Ellsworth Kelly, Latin American artists, and locals.
Shopping on South Congress
South Congress is definitely the place to shop and people watch. This address is for Allen's Boots - a good landmark, and very, very Texas.
University of Texas at Austin
Take a nice walk around the university campus and check out student life on Guadalupe St. Look into the University Co-op to see an overwhelming amount of Texas paraphernalia.
Mt. Bonnell
Take a hike up and around Mt. Bonnell for a great view of Austin and the surrounding area, known as "Hill Country."
Ladybird Lake, Hike & Bike Trail
Remember that you're invited on a bat cruise on the lake Sunday evening, but the trail around the lake is beautiful and very Austin.
Thinkery Children's Museum
Great museum right in Rachel and Alex's neighborhood.
Zilker Park
Zilker is the biggest park in Austin and a great place for a picnic. It will be too cold to swim at Barton Springs natural pool, but kids might like the little Zilker railroad around the park!
Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center
There are always amazing flowers and native plants to see at this lovely place.
Austin Nature & Science Center
