While it may seem unconventional, we couldn’t imagine beginning our marriage anywhere but San Pablo, Colorado — a place woven deeply into our hearts, our history, and our family story. Our ceremony will be held at Iglesia de San Pedro y San Pablo Catholic Church, a beloved historic adobe church recognized on the National Register of Historic Places. One of nine mission churches serving the Costilla County area, it has stood at the heart of Colorado’s oldest settlements — the original pobladores — since the early 1800s. For Dani especially, this church holds generations of memories. Several of her ancestors have celebrated life’s most meaningful moments within these very walls — baptisms, weddings, and farewells — making it a sacred thread connecting past, present, and future. This place has been lovingly cared for by the San Pablo community, including Dani’s Uncle Frank, who has devoted countless hours to fundraising and securing grants to preserve and restore the historic structure so it may continue welcoming families for generations to come. In lieu of traditional gifts, our registry includes an option to donate toward the church’s preservation. It would mean so much to us to help ensure this treasured family church stands for centuries more — so its stories, spirit, and culture continue to live on. After the ceremony, we’ll continue the celebration at our family barn, a place full of love, laughter, and countless family memories of its own. Hosting the reception here allows us to share a piece of our family’s heart with all of you and create new memories in a space that has always been special to us.
Brody: We grew up in the same town, had mutual friends and shared the same circles, and somehow, we still never met. I guess the timing just wasn’t right. Dani: Or maybe he just wasn’t ready to meet me yet! Brody: Then came 2022 at Colorado State University Pueblo. Same campus. Same Parking & Safety Office. Finally. Dani: We started as coworkers and quickly became friends. Brody: Acquaintances. Dani: Excuse me?? Brody: I had a strategy. Friends get friend-zoned. Acquaintances still have potential. Dani: I was absolutely not about to be downgraded to “acquaintance.” Brody: Bold move, I know. Dani: Annoying move. Brody: Effective move. Dani: ...Something like that! Brody: Somewhere between long shifts, inside jokes, and finding any excuse to spend time together, I knew she was someone special. Dani: And somewhere along the way, I started noticing his heart, his humor, and how easy everything felt with him. Brody: What started as coworkers turned into best friends. Dani: And best friends turned into forever. Worth the wait.
