Things To Do

Do stereotypical New York things. They rule. See a Broadway show. Go to museums. Walk on the high line. Learn why NYers flinch when we hear "it's Showtime!" on the train. Say hi to the "going up" guys outside the Empire State Building/One World Trade. Don't go up (don't say hi). Here's some stuff to do you might not have thought of:

Bronx Zoo

2300 Southern Boulevard, The Bronx, NY 10460

It's more than just a wedding venue! It's also a fully functioning and beautiful animal repository! Go early the day of our wedding. See if wearing a formal attire will get you free admission? Ride the monorail! Too much zoo for you? The New York Botanical Garden is literally across the street. Arthur Ave is 4 blocks away from the Zoo main gate. How often are you in the Bronx? Take advantage!

WNYC Transmitter Park

WNYC Transmitter Park

Greenpoint Avenue, Greenpoint, NY 11222

Hey! We got engaged here! But Transmitter Park is so much more than an engagement backdrop. Grab some to-go beers from Threes Brewing a block away on Franklin and brown bag it to watch the sunset or just chill over an afternoon. And if you're feeling spicy, Bury The Hatchet--Greenpoint's very own axe throwing store--is just around the corner!

Wing On Wo & Co

Wing On Wo & Co

26 Mott Street, New York, NY 10013

Wing on Wo is an amazing shop. It's the oldest continuously operating store in Chinatown with a five-generation legacy. They have an amazing selection of porcelain ware and cultural goods. We generally can't leave without buying something.

Magic Jewelry

Magic Jewelry

238 Canal Street, New York, NY 10013

Get your Aura photographed. Before Covid it was $20. Now it's $30. Still worth it. Where else are you going to get your aura photographed? Where else are you going to witness the Aura Camera 3000? Nowhere. Have a glass of wine first. It will clear your aura. If you go during the day a bao from Tai Pan bakery around the corner is equally effective.

Manhattanhenge

It's like Stonehenge but for Manhattan: when the sun perfectly lines up with the grid. In 2024, full Manhattanhenge was on May 29th. So odds are, you'll be in town for 2025. Best places to view it are wide streets - 14th Street, 23rd Street, 34th Street, 42nd Street and 57th Street. Like, honestly, it's pretty cool/beautiful.

For all the days along the way
