What airport should I fly into?

Do I need a car?

Answer

Nope! If you would prefer a car to travel around and sight see, don't let us stop you! Currently, guests will need to Uber or get themselves to the hotel after they arrive at the airport, and we are asking guests to Uber a short distance (about 10 min) to the hotel after the after party. Also there is plenty of public transportation including the Metra, the L, and public buses. If you want to see the city and explore there, we recommend waiting to rent a car as traversing the city can be a little tricky.

What if I want to see the city?

Answer

We are located in the suburbs of Chicago and it takes about an hour to commute to the city by car and about 2 through the train. If you want to explore the city and see the sites, we recommend staying in the city on Thurs/Fri and then coming to the suburbs. The wedding hotel is not in or near the city and is closer to the after party location.

Do I have to stay at the hotel?

Answer

You are more than welcome to shop around or find an Airbnb closer to the after party if that is something that interests you. We recommend finding places in Barrington, Schaumburg, Inverness, Hoffman Estates and Arlington Heights as those will put you around 10-25 min away from the after party location.

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

If you're not local (or even if you are), we will have a bus company who will be picking guests up at the hotel the afternoon of the event. This bus will transport you to the venue and back to the after party.

What should I wear?

Answer

This is going to be a black tie casual event. We'd love to see you get dressed to the nines if you wanted but a suit is totally fine! No need to rent attire. Jackets are suitable for the gentleman. Colors are fair game. No jeans or t-shirts. For footwear, there will be pavement at the venue but there is some grass at the after party so plan accordingly.

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

We are asking that the ceremony is unplugged and phones free as we will have a photographer to help up capture all of our favorite moments. Please enjoy the moment and be present with us. If you want to snap a quick picture, please do so politely.

How can I share my photos from the event?

Answer

We are only having a photographer for the ceremony in Rockford. Simultaneously, we are using a third party photo collection called Wedibox for guests to take photos. The after party photos are all in your hands! Take pictures. Upload them using the QR code on the website or at the party. This feature may be used at the ceremony as well if you want to upload your experience in the garden, pictures with friends, or the scenery. Note: Guests will have up to 6 months to upload any photos that they want

What's a Picture QR code?!

Answer

a QR code is a fancy box that sort of looks like a checkerboard. Your phone can scan this checkerboard pattern and instantly bring you to the picture uploading website kind of like scanning a barcode at the grocery store!

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

This is our favorite part! Guests are encouraged to walk around and explore the gardens while the bridal party and family will be taking pictures. We ask that you just try to avoid the area that pictures are currently being taken. Please take as many pictures that you want while you are in the gardens. Enjoy a moment of peaceful reflection, and feed the Koi!

Where is the after party?

It will be held at our friends Rob and Kate's. Their address is 1034 Muirfield Rd, Inverness, IL 60067. They have limited parking so please make sure you tell me if you're going to park there. (See RSVPs)

After Party Shenanigans. What does this mean?

Answer

We are having an after party rather than a reception. This means no procedure, no introductions, no script, just a party! We will have a tent for seating/eating, a dj (hopefully) and music, and lots of pinball! Just enjoy each others company and don't stress about where to be or when.

Do I need to stay for the entire after party?

Answer

We are asking guests to Uber back to the hotel whenever they want to. If you want to come for 20 min and then leave or if you want to stay all night and party with us, it's your call!

When should I eat?

Answer

There is no food or drink allowed in the gardens so please eat lunch before you get on the bus (around 3pm) We will then serve a late dinner when we get to the after party (around 830pm)

What food will be available?

Answer

We are having our favorite Mexican restaurant cater for us. Its a wonderful local Taco Tuesday hideout that we indulge in. There will be quesadillas (corn tortillas), tacos (chicken, steak, and chorizo), chips, salsa, guacamole, and many toppings. There will also be horchata.

Is there alcohol?

Answer

There will be alcohol at the after party including hard spirits, beer, and cider. Please be respectful and know your limits.

What if we are around on Monday?

Answer

Ryan and I are planning to go putt putting (Mini golf for you New Englanders) with those who are around Monday. If you're interested, please RSVP. We'd love to see you. The course is called Congo River and we LOVE it! The address is 1325 Barrington Rd, Hoffman Estates, IL 60169

Can I be rowdy, cause a ruckus, or get too drunk?

Respectfully, this is an event about us. If at any point the bride or groom is uncomfortable with your actions, behavior, speech, or mannerisms; you will be asked to leave. Zero tolerance, no exceptions. Know your limits when consuming alcohol. Be respectful of the venue, event staff, and the Garden/Bus rules. Keep jokes tasteful and be respectful of others. Do not cause drama. Keep your long standing feud with Uncle-Whats-His-Face to yourself. This is a day of celebration and there is no time for anything else.

What if I cant make it?

Don't WORRY! We love you all very much but if you cant make it, that's totally fine. You will be missed but we understand.
