Crossing the border

In order, to leave Mexico you should have either your ID and your birth certificate or a passport. Elijah has not had a passport for the whole wedding planning process. He has been able to cross the border back to the US with his birth certificate and California ID. They have not asked any questions or told him not to do this but if you choose to do this, it will be at your own risk. There is no guarantee that you will not get any trouble for not having a passport. For stress-free travel, please take a passport when traveling to Mexico. Please be aware that if you are driving back across the border to the US, it will take a few hours. Also, do not pay anyone if they try to stop you for a short cut. We will be leaving Mexico at 10:30 AM. If any of you would like, we can caravan back to the US.

Passport Information To receive a passport it will take: -Routine: 8 to 11 weeks since the date they receive your packet, not when you send it. -Expedited: Costs is an extra $60. Takes 5 to 7 weeks.* -These times are only estimates. Covid has caused the process to take much longer. Passport books (used for flights, driving, and seaports) $145 - first-time applicants 16 and older $115 - applicants under 16 $110 - renewals by mail Passport Card (used only for driving and seaports from US) $65 - first-time applicants 16 and older $50 - applicants under 16 $30 - renewals by mail * If you have not already tried to get your passport, do not try it now. They will take your original passport and will return it 2 weeks after you already receive your passport.

The wedding date falls on the same weekend as a large music festival just 6 miles away from our venue. This will cause the rates for hotels to raise exponentially AND have less availability. We suggest you get a room reserved ASAP. If you aren't sure or are not going to come, please let us know now. Thanks!
