What Should We Wear

Answer

Friday Night: Cultural celebration—Afghan attire is highly encouraged! If that’s not possible or preferred, festive/formal attire is perfect. Saturday Night: Formal. Suits with ties or tuxedos for men; floor-length gowns or cocktail dresses for women. Think elegant but comfortable enough to dance! Sunday: Casual and Comfy

Where are the events taking place?

Answer

All wedding events will be held at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, VA. The brunch location is still TBD.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We come from a big family—which means there will already be lots of little ones running around! Because of that, we're hoping to keep the guest list mostly adult for the weekend. That said, we completely understand that travel and childcare can be tricky, so if this presents a challenge for your family, just let us know. We’re open and happy to talk it through!

What hotel options are available?

Answer

We have two hotel blocks: Crystal Gateway Marriott – The main event venue, with all wedding events taking place on-site. Embassy Suites by Hilton Crystal City – A nearby option for Hilton lovers, just a short walk from the Marriott. Includes complimentary breakfast and spacious suites. What if I want to stay somewhere else?

Answer

Totally fine! Crystal City has plenty of hotel and Airbnb options within walking or quick driving distance of the venue. It’s a great, walkable neighborhood with lots of amenities and easy access to D.C. Is there transportation from the airport?

Answer

Yes! Both hotels offer complimentary shuttles to and from Reagan National Airport (DCA), which is just a few minutes away.

How do we get around the area?

Answer

Crystal City is super accessible! The Crystal City Metro Station is just steps away from the Marriott, making it easy to explore Washington, D.C. without a car. Uber and Lyft are also widely available throughout the area.

What’s there to do nearby?

Answer

So much! Crystal City is just across the river from D.C., so it’s a quick Metro or Uber ride to the National Mall, museums, monuments, Georgetown, and more. Locally, you’ll find great restaurants, walking trails, parks, and scenic spots along the Potomac.
