We're getting married!

We technically matched on Hinge in 2023 (maybe even once or twice before that), but Rob, who was not excited about the idea of online dating, took his sweet time replying, so nothing happened. Over the next year, we both dated other people - but kept seeing each other at the gym and hearing about one another through mutual friends (shoutout to Whitney & Sarah!). In 2024, we re-matched - and actually talked this time! Two dates later, Emily invited Rob to Lake Norman with the Charleston, WV crew, and it quickly felt like something more. A few weeks after that, Rob knew he had to “lock this down” and asked Emily to be his girlfriend on a trip to Folly Beach - a place that would soon mean even more. The next year of dating was highlighted by numerous trips to visit family in PA and WV, introducing each other to our friends, skiing in Park City, an unfortunate visit to the ER after a basketball injury and moving in together. Although it was only 12 months of “dating” it became clear this was the real deal. After 2 months of Rob’s phone being on Do Not Disturb and “being sketchy” about his phone, Rob surprised Emily with a ring and an important question while watching the sunrise at their favorite beach! We feel so lucky to have found each other, finally, and can’t wait to begin our lives together as Mr. & Mrs. Watts!
