For those coming from abroad, the best way to arrive to Santander is via the local airport (Aeropuerto Seve Ballesteros - Santander). There are no direct flights from the U.S., though there are multiple connecting flights per day from either Madrid or Barcelona. Other cities with direct flights to Santander include London, Dublin, and Brussels, but please note that these are not daily. Once you arrive at the airport, you can either rent a car (not necessary but useful you're planning to explore Cantabria) or hail a taxi at the airport (note: Uber works in Santander, but be advised that options may be limited). The next closest alternate airport is Bilbao, which is a one-hour drive from Santander and thus requires a rental car. Bilbao airport has direct connections with all major European cities. For any train enthusiasts out there, there is also a comfy five-hour direct train from Madrid to Santander via Renfe. Finally, for those looking to stay in Spain a bit longer after the wedding and soak in this beautiful country, we highly recommend you visit the famous Basque Country cities of Bilbao and San Sebastian, which are easily accessible by car. Additionally, there are regular flights from Santander to amazing cities in Andalucia such as Sevilla and Malaga, which are perfect Spring destinations.

We will have multiple shuttles picking up people from the Eurostars Hotel Real at 12:20 pm and from the Santander Port at 12:30 pm. There is also parking space for ~15 cars at the wedding venue. This is a beautiful, historic five-star hotel in the heart of Santander. Danny, Ana, and family will be staying here, and the shuttle to the wedding will pick those staying in Santander up here.

This is a really great four-star hotel opposite Sardinero Beach along the Bay of Biscay and close to the Royal Palace. The hotel is a 15 minute walk, or 4 minute taxi, to the Hotel Real for the shuttle pickup.

Outside of Santander, the next best option for hotels is Somo, which is right across the bay and is more of a beach town. There are also tons of rural houses for rent on Airbnb or VRBO in the Cantabrian countryside close to Santander and Cubas.
