The Tithe Barn and surrounding area is in the South Downs National Park so it’s a great area for walking. https://www.southdowns.gov.uk/great-days-out/ Harting Down https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/sussex/harting-down/harting-down-wildlife-walk is a good place to park and explore from.
Probably the most famous horse racing festival in the UK.

Portsmouth has a historic naval yard, as well as ferries to Isle of Wight* and France**. *Isle of Wight is worth a visit given its close proximity. Great cycling, golf, sailing, walks, beaches and Queen Victoria’s Osbourne House estate. Ventnor is our favourite town on the island. Adrian and Zoe happy to give further advice on good walks, beaches etc. **Ferry from Portsmouth Harbour takes you to Normandy beaches and D Day landings. Fascinating and very moving.
Famous cathedral in Winchester City
There are lots of small attractive villages with old churches around, and the Weald and Downland museum is 17 miles from The Tithe Barn https://www.wealddown.co.uk and has a collection of traditional buildings (from the Anglo-Saxon period to the Edwardian era) in a rural landscape. Slightly further afield, but within 2 hours drive are the cities of Brighton (wonderfully quirky) and the Roman town of Bath. And London is within easy reach by a good train service (nb highly recommend to not to drive!)
