Happily ever after

We worked together for many years and always respected each other as nurses. We watched each other go through trials in life, and it was during those trials we began our friendship. Sharing advice, learning what type of person each of us were...catching glimpses of the authentic person neither of us had met yet. Then one day, I noticed how beautiful his eyes are and that dimple in his right cheek, how infectious his smile is. It would be weeks before I confessed to a friend I had a huge crush...she said go for it! (Thanks Lanna!) He figured out I was actually really sweet under my tough exterior and understandably, he was surprised! When I finally did work up the nerve to ask him out (I would still be waiting if I waited for him to ask), he made me ask probably a dozen more times! He asked me during that time that I was chasing, what is it I wanted. I told him good conversation and a nice meal, probably a good thing I didn't tell him I was searching for my "happily ever after", and yet here we are...nailed it!
