The town of Certaldo Alto sits on the top of the hill to the urban part of Certaldo Basso. Here you can explore the Palazzo Pretorio, Boccaccio's House and walk through the ancient city. There are various spots for lunch making this a perfect half day trip on a budget.
In order to get to Certaldo Alto, you can take the tram to the top of the hill. Look for signs for the Funicolare. It's about 4 euros for the round trip.
San Gimignano is a UNESCO world heritage site being one of the oldest cities in Italy, dating back to the 13th century. The town is know for its 14 of the original 72 towers built my rivaling families. This is a must see cities as you travel within Tuscany. Bring your walking shoes and look out for some of the best gelato in all of Tuscany!
Located in the heart of Tuscany, Siena is one of Italy's most vibrant medieval cities. Enjoy people watching in Piazza del Campo, marvel at the gothic Siena Dumo and find the original Ricciarelli biscotti, an Italian wedding cookie.
If you do anything while you're here, please take at least a day to visit the beloved Firenze. the David, the Dumo, the Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Pitti, Piazzale Michangelo, and the list goes on.
