Las Bóvedas (The Vaults) is an architecturally interesting structure within the old city walls. Originally built to store munition and dungeons, now it’s an excellent place to find souvenirs and unique Colombian art.

Barrio Getsemani
A 10 min walk from the old city you can find the Getsemani neighborhood. Getsemani is a charming trendy area next to the historical center where you will find street art, wall murals, music and lots of dancing.
Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas
A huge fortress that is still part of Cartagena's cityscape. You can walk some of the tunnels and open to the public.
Las Botas Viejas

Rosario Islands
As part of the Rosario and San Bernardo Corals National Natural Park, the Rosario Islands are an integral part of one of Colombia’s most important national parks, and the only park in the country that is primarily underwater. As such, the islands and surrounding waters are remarkably well preserved and protected, meaning that you can enjoy their wonders as nature intended. A short boat ride from Cartagena, it’s also really easy to pay the islands a visit from the ‘Jewel of the Indies’, meaning that anyone can enjoy a trip to the islands. Most of the islands can be reached in an hour or less from Cartagena’s docks.
