National Museum of African American History and Culture

National Mall

A stroll along the National Mall offers iconic views of the Capitol, the White House, the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial. The tidal basin is also nearby, and includes the Jefferson Memorial, the Martin Luther King, JR memorial, and the FDR memorials

Smithsonian Museums

There's a variety of Smithsonian Museums along the National Mall that offer free admission. Some highlights include the National Air and Space Museum, National Museum of Natural History, National Museum of American History, and the National Museum of African American History and Culture.

Old Town

We love going to Alexandria for the beautiful views of the Potomac River, parks, and waterfront dining at nice seafood restaurants (we recommend Vola's Dockside Grill). Plus, there's nice cobblestone streets with major shopping opportunities at both chain stores and mom & pop's.
