As of July 1, the state of Virginia is in Phase 3 which allows for social gatherings of up to 250 individuals. Our guest count only includes 60 of our closest family and friends. Additionally, the ceremony and reception's seating and set up will include social distancing measures of six feet between each guest, temperature checks of each guest and staff member (who will wear gloves as they serve guests), the provision of personalized masks for each guest, sanitation stations and more. If you are staying at the Ritz-Carlton (Pentagon City) we strongly recommend you do not rent a car. The hotel is approximately 3.8 miles (8 minute drive) from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). If you plan to stay at an alternate hotel or fly into an alternate airport (BWI or IAD), we still encourage you to Uber or taxi to save on parking costs at your respective hotels and throughout the city.
There are 3 different airport options in the DC area depending on where you can get the best deal and how far you're willing to travel from the airport. Reagan National Airport (DCA) is the closest airport to our ceremony location, host hotel, downtown DC and is metro accessible! Dulles International (IAD) is further out in Virginia but has flights from all over the country and is just a taxi, shuttle, or bus-to-metro ride away from DC. Baltimore Washington International (BWI) is north of DC in Maryland, but often has cheaper flights, and the MARC train from there is a less than hour ride to Washington's Union Station.
For most of the sights you'd want to see, DC is very walkable! The DC Metro is an affordable option that services much of DC, but it runs only about every 15 minutes on the weekends, so we recommend being flexible if you're relying on Metro. If you're going from one quadrant to another or into Arlington, Uber, Lyft or a taxi are easy options.
We adore your little ones, however, our wedding is an adult-only event. Our vision is for our guests to relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making childcare arrangements ahead of time to celebrate with us.
The dress is semi-formal. We encourage men to wear tuxedos or dark-colored suits. Women, we welcome you to wear gowns or cocktail dresses.
The wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and reception will all be indoors.
We wish we could celebrate this day with everyone, but we have a firm guest list in an effort to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate the individuals listed on your invitation.
We prefer for the ceremony to be unplugged, however, during the reception we encourage guests to post pictures on to their social media channels as we dance the night away. Our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #AndersonEverAfter!
Following the ceremony, there will be an open bar cocktail hour from 6- 7 pm. The reception will include a champagne toast and wine. Additional cash bar option will be available.
The Ritz-Calton is offering overnight valet at a discounted rate of $39 and day of valet for a discounted rate of $19. Please mention the Bennett/Anderson wedding to secure your discounted rate!
