She said yes!
On a rainy February weekend in San Francisco (it doesn't get below 40 F in SF.... humble brag) Kailee and her friend, Jose, were visiting the newest resident of the city, Hayley Apfel. The air was crisp and the ground was damp, a perfect environment for a spark. Hayley had just moved to the city, so to guarantee a good time she called upon a new friend. Enter Warren. A smile and laugh that gives the sun envy, a strong 5' 8" (which some say is the perfect height), and eyes that remind you of sailing on the bluest ocean, he cut a mean look as he swaggered into the oyster joint where they were meeting. Well actually, he was on time, the forementioned crew was about 30 min late, luckily they served White Claws. Hayley enters and gives one of her classic smiles, she's followed by a handsome man who's bracelets and clothes say he's definitely from LA, and then, from Warren's eyes, some sort of of goddess floats into the room. Warren is only able to think one thing when he sees this ethereal being, "Damnnnnnnnnnnnn." Oysters are shucked, glasses are clinked, and budding friendships form within this group of four. "We want to dance" says someone and so to Blondies they go. Blondies is a small martini/dance bar where decisions are not considered good or bad, they just are. As the night grew older and the patrons sweatier, a connection between our two heroes is formed. They called evening an end and plans were made for the following day. The ensuing Warren and his roommate (at that time) Ryan were throwing one of their patented galas where wine, art, and E-40 music videos played. Kailee, Jose, and Haley stopped by, but being the socialites they were, they had another soiree across the city. They left and Warren instantly felt a longing like traveler marooned in the desert. Looking for his oasis, he turned to his friend Mike and said "I want to go to this event." After Mike asked why, Warren responded with "I'm chasing a girl." The night was fun and it ended, once again, with plans for the next day. On the last day of that weekend the four horseman decided to drive up to Bodega Bay with Warren's dog, Hank, to get oysters once again. The drive, though beautiful, can be deadly for those prone to car sickness. So while Hayley and Jose nursed their car sickness, Kailee and Warren just talked. It was at this point Warren knew she wasn't just a babe, or a lot of fun, but an amazing, cool, and intelligent person. When the day ended Warren knew, without doubt, that there was something there. Unfortunately they lived 6+ hours apart, but, as mentioned in the beginning of this tale, a spark was ignited and plans to meet again were made. The chase was afoot.
