Megan and Jared met while working at Best Buy. Jared was short on money one day so Megan surprised him with some snacks at work. He bought her a Starbucks gift card in return...which she promptly used to buy him Starbucks, not wanting to spend the gift card on herself. As he likes to say, she "slid into [his] DMs" to ask if he wanted anything until she plucked up the courage to ask him for his number.
Megan originally wanted to go to Disneyworld for the 50th Anniversary celebration in March of 2022, which is where Jared was going to propose, but those plans fell through. She then planned a cruise for February of 2022... which was cancelled less than a week later due to the pandemic. At this point, a slightly exasperated Jared suggested just taking a trip to NYC for a long weekend. Megan agreed, planned the trip, and Jared secretly found a ring off Megan's Pinterest and had a jeweler make it. The first stop in NYC was The Edge at Hudson Yards, a 100+ story building with a balcony near the top people can walk around on. After (nervously) making it through security without having to show them the ring, Jared told Megan to wait inside for a minute and he went to find a worker who would be able to secretly record them. He found a somewhat empty spot outside to propose, to which Megan asked, "Are you serious??" He was, in fact, very serious. They enjoyed their complimentary champagne while telling all their friends and family (although, as Jared pointed out, apparently everyone knew already). We’re so excited to celebrate with you in July!
