Things To Do

Some of our favorite places to visit in New Orleans while you're in town!

City Park

New Orleans, LA

It's a beautiful huge park with lots of fun stuff to see including a massive sculpture garden. Get some beignets at Cafe du Monde!

Audubon Park

6500 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70118

Another gorgeous park, probably prettier but with fewer activities. Great walking/biking trail, and access to the Mississippi River at the Fly (entrance down by the Zoo)

WWOZ - 90.7 FM

Best radio station in the nation! Hear some local sounds and be informed of the local live music schedule via their Livewire

The Maison

508 Frenchmen Street, New Orleans, LA 70116

The club where we met! It was Halloween, Jake was playing in a tiger costume, and he jumped off the stage to buy a drink for a cute stranger named Wan Qi, dressed in a team USA gymnastics costume, who turned out to be the love of his life!

Bayou St. John

New Orleans, LA 70119

One of our favorite hangout spots, just chillin' on the bayou with a picnic or a craft or a long conversation about life

Parkway Bakery & Tavern

538 Hagan Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70119

Best poboys in the city, classic vibes

Taqueria Guerrero

208 N Carrollton Ave, New Orleans, LA 70119

Our favorite Mexican restaurant that everyoooone loves

Flour Moon Bagels

457 North Dorgenois Street, New Orleans, LA 70119

Some of our favorite bagels in town

Stein's Market and Deli

2207 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

Some of the best bagels in town owned by one of the biggest personalities in town (Dan Stein)

Antigravity Magazine

Wan Qi's favorite local (free!) monthly publication that spotlights New Orleans artists, politics and social justice issues, and more

Rendezvous Tavern

3101 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70115

We went on our first date here! It's a dive bar. We talked for hours and did a crossword puzzle together.

Café Reconcile

1631 Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard, New Orleans, LA 70113

Cafe Reconcile is a nonprofit that teaches at-risk youth skills in the service industry and a restaurant in one; the food is very good (fried green tomatoes are the truth) and your money supports the nonprofit - everyone wins!

Budsi’s Authentic Thai

1760 North Rampart Street, New Orleans, LA 70116

Casual and consistently yummy Thai food in a central location

Saturn Bar

3067 Saint Claude Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70117

Always great music and immaculate vibes here

Acamaya

3070 Dauphine Street, New Orleans, LA 70117

Contemporary Mexican seafood restaurant that has been getting all the awards and accolades as of late (and is extremely delicious), and is where Luo Qi works as a server

Tân Định

1705 Lafayette Street, Gretna, LA 70053

Our favorite Vietnamese food in town (though you'll probably need a car to cross the bridge into the West Bank)
