Wangs upon a time, Eric and Joy met as floating text bubbles on the ether. Over time the words and ideas leapt from the screens into reality, bringing them face-to-face, along the Fremont canals. On that first night, it felt like their conversations took on a life of its own. The two talked about their shared Chinese heritage, their love of music, the meaning of life and death, as hours passed in minutes and the two parted with nervous hope - could they have finally found what they were looking for? Their summer flew by in a whirlwind of jazz concerts, late-night beach escapades, violin and piano jam sessions, drunken weeknight sangria, and impromptu photo shoots. When Joy had to leave for a solo trip to Machu Picchu, saying goodbye was hard. Distance indeed made their hearts grow fonder, and Eric found himself waiting for Joy's messages from Lima and Cusco and vice versa. As soon Joy got back, they decided to listen to their hearts...and the rest is history!
We share a lot of common interests including coffee, plants, gardening, traveling, music/art, cooking, board games, hiking, and most recently, exercise with kettlebells!
We have a weekend breakfast ritual where we make pourovers, a fancy salad with nuts, fried eggs, and sourdough bread with olive oil. It's simple, healthy, cheap, and tastes so good. The secret is high quality Tuscan olive oil!
We plan to go to Bora Bora a week after the wedding!
We want to expand our backyard to grow food year round. We would love to grow our family and give Tchai a sibling or two. Spend time with our friends and family. And once in a while, still travel the world.
