Maid of Honor
Hanna and Denise met at UC Berkeley in undergraduate physiology lab. Hanna and Denise's friendship grew over weird events starting with Denise's lab coat missing during lab and their common interest in nail art. During their time in Sacramento, they experienced turkeys blocking the road to work, doorknobs falling off and cannot get to work, and late night trips to Chando's that Hanna introduced Denise to. They have traveled along the east and west coasts, had their Hangover movie experience in Vegas, and gone through many high's and low's together.
Bridesman
Doug and Denise met in medical school at Drexel. They were cadaver buddies in the same gross anatomy group right from the beginning. The two procrastinators often spent time in Philly's Center City hunting down the best food places to avoid studying. Denise bothered Doug with her bi-sleep schedule (i.e. 3-4 hours napping in the afternoon and 4-5 hours sleeping at night), screwing up his circadian rhythm as well. Doug and Denise had almost annual trips together including Florida, east coast road trip, and DC given others cannot always take their shenanigans and late night munchies.
Bridesmaid
Debbie and Denise met on the first day of residency at Mount Sinai Hospital since they both started on medicine floor nights of July 1, 2020. While most new interns were anxious, Denise was looking for friends at work since she newly moved to New York City. The other residents confused Denise and Debbie with each other since they are both short Taiwanese girls. They grew close over food, travel, etching, and OCD over cleanliness. They have traveled to Florida, Rhode Island, and other locations together.
Bridesman
Tarek met Denise in residency at Mount Sinai Hospital when he was her senior resident on medicine floors early on during Denise's intern year. He describes her as "an intern boss on the floors" who sent Tarek home early frequently, which likely was the beginning of their friendship. Their relationship deepened as couch potatoes. They spent their time on Tarek's couch watching shows and eating food that Dean supplied to the lazy duo. They bonded over horror movies, Harry Potter, grievances in residency, and good food. Their furbabies, Truffles and Harry, also became good friends.
Bridesman
Zach met Denise at Kellogg, where Zach would summarize Denise's prioritized business school activities as "sleeping, eating, and watching shows." They became quick friends over eating desserts, walking their dogs, and watching Truffles prefer Dale over Denise. Denise was basically Zach and Dale's third roommate, who they had to constantly remind of business school etiquette and activities to prevent Denise from oversleeping. The trio stayed good friends, but honestly, Dale and Zach are just waiting for the day that Denise will reunite Truffles with them and their dog, Charlie.
Bridesmaid
Caroline met Denise in residency at Mount Sinai Hospital on nights. Their friendship began with Denise's hunt for someone to watch The Mandalorian with on nights given her obsession with baby Yoda (i.e. Grogu) at the time, and Caroline was just as interested! Their friendship blossomed over TV shows/movies, fashion, travel, food, makeup, dogs, and nails. Though their decisions are sometimes questionable, such as having Harley, Caroline's husband, bring the two McDonald's while they worked in the CCU, tempting the CCU patients. The two have celebrated holidays, Caroline's wedding, and other milestone events together. Caroline is waiting for a repeat of NOLA dancing to happen, but will Denise break it down?
Best Man
Andrew and Dan met freshman year at Penn in the back of Chemistry 101 where they quickly became covalently bonded. Their friendship solidified during a sweaty summer as roommates who opted for Diablo marathons over MCAT prep. After college, they reunited on an unforgettable trip to San Francisco where they discovered their obsession with Lane 8 and RÜFÜS DU SOL (and almost crashed a wedding party). Their friendship only deepened through residency in New York with countless concerts and food adventures. With the Bay Area as their next home, the good times are only just getting started.
Groomsman
Hiro and Dan met in the very beginnings of medical school. They seamlessly became good friends as a result of their shared interests outside of school. Exploring the nightlife of Charm City, walking aimlessly in DUMBO, and stuffing their faces in all-you-can-way restaurants became a normal way of life amidst their hectic schedules. Their relationship extended beyond their friendship, as they became roommates for the last 3 remaining years in medical school. Not only did they have more time to hang out, which was usually was spent listening to Lane 8/Rufus or working out, but also had the pleasure of forgetting who’s turn it was to do the dishes. Though they physically won’t be living close to each other, their bond runs strong through their meme stocks
Groomsman
Henry and Daniel met in middle school as two sweaty kids from Queens who bonded over the ultimate New York City upbringing: hours on the subway between school and extracurriculars (shout out to 4-H), handball until late at the Central Park Rec Center, procrastinating on homework with Maplestory, endless cans of Arizona iced tea, and the most legendary $4 meal deal known to mankind (RIP Falafel Express.) This unflappable foundation, together with the power of all-you-can-eat sushi, a lifetime of absurd inside jokes (road apples), and Skype and Oovoo (RIP) kept them close through their time at different colleges and Dan's time in med school. Daniel's return to NYC led to poker nights, hangouts as neighbors in LIC, and yet more all-you-can-eat sushi. Time will tell what lies ahead for the two friends, but it will probably include some more all-you-can-eat sushi.
Groomsman
Inghu and Dan met their first year as med students at Hopkins. They immediately bonded over their shared love of music and concerts, planning social events like the first (and last) inaugural 929 elevator party, and food adventures. They had some iconic adventures that solidified their friendship in Baltimore, including the DC hostel / Alison Wonderland concert and the search for brown sauce in Patterson Park. They got even closer in residency together in New York, where they bonded over the Knicks, annual Lane 8 concerts, and misadventures with Dan’s cat Louis. They’re bonded for life, with the side effect of a particularly low IQ iMessage chat history. #FreeBobby
Groomsman
Henry and Daniel happened to meet in a Queens hospital 27 years ago, courtesy of mom and dad. Their brotherhood evolved throughout the early 2000s with haphazard wrestling techniques, the kingdom hearts opening soundtrack, and shooting sideways jumpers. Throughout their diverging life and career paths, they’ve supported each other in countless ways while incorporating the new generation of memes into their arsenal. Nowadays, they may spontaneously catch Porter Robinson at a one day festival in Boston, or joy ride all around New York City just to end up at Olive Garden for unlimited breadsticks and salad. With so much of life changing around them, they can always depend on each other and know that there will never be a more lopsided trade than Luka Doncic for Anthony Davis and a bag of chips.
Groomsman
Kevin and DWeng met on the first day of 7th grade as the first stops on the school bus and, as they grew too tall for the little cheese bus (This is DWeng), moved to taking the long 1.5 hours commute together, all the way to the end of the grotesquely long Q27 bus home. Growing up just a few blocks apart, they've spent countless days on the asphalt basketball and handball (New York, not Europe) courts of every public school in Bayside on weekends and summers since age 12. They've become not-so-distant cousins to each others' families aplenty growing up on Horace Harding Expressway and remain bonded - Bayside Boys forever.
