Maine is an amazing and unique travel destination. However, it does lend it's challenges as it's largely rural - especially where the wedding festivities are. A vehicle is necessary to move around the area. We highly recommend driving if you're within a comfortable driving distance. Please note that our wedding date is the Friday before the July 4th weekend, which is when the state really opens up for the summer tourism season. If possible, we'd encourage you to take some time on the front or back end of your trip to explore Wanda's great home state! We've listed some suggestions on the "Things To Do" tab to help guide your planning.

Portland International Airport (PWM)

The Portland International Jetport is probably going to be your best option for flying in. It is approximately 1.5 hrs. south of Liberty, ME (the party hub) and 2 hrs. from Monroe, ME (the wedding location).

Bangor International Airport (BGR)

Bangor International Airport is a very small airport north of the wedding festivities and a good second option if you can find a better price or travel times for your needs. It is closer to local hotels in Belfast, ME (55 mins.) and the wedding location in Monroe, ME (40 mins).

The party hub is going to be in Liberty, ME - specifically around Lake St. George. This is a very small town of 900 people but there are lots of rental options around the lake. The wedding location is in Monroe, ME and 30 minutes from Liberty. If you want us to verify the location, forward the link as we're likely familiar with it's location.
