Our Story

Megan's Perspective

On December 13th, 2016 my life changed for the better. After a stressful week of finals this crazy world brought me Mike: a tall handsome man with a smile that would weaken any lucky lady's knees. We immediately hit it off and talked for what seemed like forever - sparks were certainly flying! I couldn't believe that I had just bumped into this man who just seemed to understand me and click so easily with me in every way possible. I knew I had to take a leap of faith and explore what this could be and two and a half years later I am so glad I did. After our first date he told me he knew he was going to marry me someday. Internally I rolled my eyes thinking "Yeah right! What is he thinking?!" but as the months turned into years I knew he was right. I wanted to marry this man and never let go. I never knew it was possible to find someone who truly KNEW me- who got my jokes, accepted my quirks, and who loved me more than I ever imagined was possible. He helped me through some of the most stressful and emotional times and never once made me feel alone. Plenty of trips, multiple homes, and two kittens later we are making a promise to always be there for each other. Here is to our future together and the adventures we have along the way!

Our Story

Mike's Perspective

December 13th, 2016 is a day I most certainly wont forget. After weeks of travel, battling with German management, and loss; I never imagined I would find the girl of my dreams. I never believed in love at first sight until that day. Not only was she the most beautiful girl in the world but her smile could light up any room. We immediately clicked and it felt like we had known each other all of our lives. I knew right away this was the person I wanted to be with and the one that completed me. Somehow she puts up with all of my shenanigans, temper, and family (not many people can do that). She has also helped me grow as a person and continues to push and support me in my career. Its been 2.5 years of many vacations, trips to both families, and two jobs; I wouldn’t change a thing. On September 5, 2020 I am blessed to call this woman my wife and become the luckiest man in the world. I cant wait to see where our life takes us next.

The Proposal

3.9.2019

The weekend of March 9th we took a trip up to New York City with my family. We were having fun walking the city, drinking lots of good wine and eating plenty of delicious food while spending time together in a gorgeous hotel. On that Saturday night we all went to a French bistro for dinner where the wine flowed generously and we ate until we were stuffed. My aunt told us to hold off on dessert that night as she had some cake and champagne back at the hotel to celebrate our last night all together in the city. Happy-go-lucky me had no idea what Mike truly had planned for that night; all I could think was "YES cake and champagne!). As we returned to the hotel I went up to our room with my sister to drop off coats and met my family and Mike for the evening celebration. After chatting about our fun-filled weekend for a bit, Mike went to go get the cake. When he returned he gave the cake to me to hold. My first thought was "YES, chocolate cake all for me!", but when I looked down I could not believe what I was seeing. The cake read "Will you marry me?" and to my right Mike was on one knee with a gorgeous ring waiting for me. Fast forward five minutes and I was finally able to utter the words "Yes!" after my ugly/happy tears and excitement. Here is to our forever!
