We highly recommend spending some time in Cabo San Lucas! It's about a 30–40 minute drive from San José del Cabo and offers a lot of fun activities. Some of our favorites include: - Take a boat tour to El Arco and Lover’s Beach – This is also a great area for snorkeling! - Eat at SUR Beach House – One of our favorite spots, especially for brunch with ocean views. - Try jet skiing, paddleboarding, or parasailing – You’ll find several rental options right on the beach.
Cabo is known as the “Marlin Capital of the World,” and is also a great place to catch Mahi-Mahi (Dorado) and Yellowfin Tuna. Many charters will clean and fillet your catch, and some local restaurants will even cook it for you (“You hook it, we cook it!” style).
San Jose del Cabo has a slower pace than Cabo San Lucas and is full of great food, art, and culture. It's also where our wedding will take place! A few favorites: - Explore the Art District – Stroll through galleries and artisan shops in the historic center. - Thursday Night Art Walk – If you're in town on a Thursday evening, don’t miss this lively weekly event featuring live music, local artists, and open galleries. - Dinner at Flora Farms or Acre (our wedding venue) – Both are beautiful farm-to-table restaurants with amazing food and ambiance. - Relax at Palmilla Beach – One of the safest and most swimmable beaches in the area.
This is one of Shannon's favorite towns - A chill, artsy surf town about an hour away (home to the “Hotel California”)
Located about an hour from San José del Cabo, this beach is ideal for surfing and has a laid-back, local vibe. It's a great spot to spend a relaxed afternoon. If you’re thinking of extending your stay in the area, we recommend Cerritos Surf Town Beach Hotel & Spa—a fun, beachfront option with a great atmosphere.
