Travel and Accommodations

The Wedding Website of Anna Merryman and Walker Lee
Thank you for traveling all the way to celebrate with us! First a note on Covid: We are really praying and hoping that things will remain open and easy here in MA. But please keep updated on the latest with Massachusetts' travel and Covid rules here: https://www.mass.gov/info-details/covid-19-travel-order. Airports: TF Greene Airport (PVD) in Providence, RI, or Boston Logan (BOS). Traffic is better driving in from Providence. Plan at least a minimum of 1 hour drive from TF Greene to the Cape's Bourne Bridge and 1.5 hours from Boston Logan. If you are arriving during rush hour (and Friday night rush hour to boot!) the drive will be more. Local Transport on the Cape: There is little public transportation on the Cape. Ubers and other options are few and far between - and pricey if you actually are able to find one. We highly recommend renting a car at the airport. Hotels: Mashpee or Falmouth area are most convenient to both the church (Osterville) and the reception (Woods Hole).

Hotel

Inn on the Square

40 North Main Street
Falmouth, MA 02540
 (508) 457-0606

This is a convenient, good hotel close to downtown Falmouth (THINK: quaint New England town with a beautiful village green, Christmas-decorated window-shopping, and some excellent restaurants!) The Inn on the Square also has its own breakfast restaurant that boasts amazing pancakes, waffles, and hot chocolate with lots of whipped cream. Coffee Obsession is also right across the street. If you get the opportunity to grab a meal in downtown Falmouth, we recommend Blue Fins for sushi, Anejo for Mexican, and the Maison Villatte Boulangerie - known for its authentic French pastry collection that includes yummy chocolate croissants and other amazing pastry delights. Quarterback restaurant also has a cozy, low-key pub environment with well-respected clam chowder too. The Glass Onion, right across from this Inn and the Palmer House Inn, offers elegant fine-dining with an outstanding menu. Anna worked here as a dessert and salad chef. :-)

Hotel

AirBnB

For families or groups of friends, AirBnB offers many places in Mashpee and Falmouth, both of which are convenient and equidistant from the ceremony and the reception. So you are probably asking: "Which Falmouth? North? West? East? This is confusing!" Yes, it is. To make matters even more confusing, there's no South Falmouth. Nope. None. Nada. So which one of these is best? All work. Just check your Google Map app to find out what the distance is from Osterville and Woods Hole. Ideally, North Falmouth and West Falmouth might give you locations that have less traffic to where you want to go. But all of them are fine! Extra tip: West Falmouth has a little downtown with a beautiful harbor and great sunsets - so if you snatch an AirBnB within walking distance to West Falmouth harbor it's a breathtaking bonus.

Hotel

Palmer House Inn

81 Palmer Avenue
Falmouth, MA 02540
 (508) 548-1230

If you are someone looking for a cozy and charming New England Victorian bed and breakfast with individually-unique rooms, the Palmer House Inn is lovely. Beyond that, it is an easy walk to downtown Falmouth, with access to all the restaurants, Christmas-decorated village shops, festively-decorated village green, and more. (Read all about our restaurant top picks in the Inn on the Square description). Watch out though! The Palmer House Inn does not always offer refunds, depending on the season. We personally got stung on that once before. So read all the fine print before signing your John Hancock.

Hotel

Sea Crest Beach Hotel

350 Quaker Road
Falmouth, MA 02556
 (800) 225-3110

This hotel overlooks Silver Beach, in North Falmouth, is close to highways and equidistant to the church and the reception. Cape Cod weather and temperatures are highly variable in December, but staying here gives you access to great sunsets and beach walks. We don't have personal experience with people staying here, but it continues to be a go-to for many locals and events. Ocean-view rooms are premium-priced.

Hotel

The Coonamessett

311 Gifford Street
Falmouth, MA 02540
 (508) 548-2300

Quaint, long-standing hotel nestled about 2-3 miles from downtown Falmouth. Some of the online reviews are not positive but it is also under new management; so we cannot give a clear thumbs up on it. We have never stayed at this hotel but it is a commonly-used local inn.

Hotel

Our Outdoor Lake-side Hammock

Ahh! If it weren't for the bone-chilly temps of December mornings, we would offer this option - as a few have enjoyed its soft swaying comfort during a warm breezy summer night under a star-dust-filled sky. Sadly, this will not be available for our wedding. But keep it in mind for a summer visit. . . . !
