It all started with spoon assassins, when Anna served as an accomplice in Walker's murder. Shortly after she knocked him out of the game, she greeted him with a huge smile and an invite to play intramural basketball. Naturally, Walker accepted, but he was unsure if Anna had invited him because it was part of her job as a Cru intern or if it was for an entirely different reason. They slowly got to know each other through winning a few basketball games, and they began to go to the gym together to workout. They had a long, meaningful conversation in Anna's car one night, and this is when they started to develop feelings for each other. At Isle of Cru, the ministry's spring break trip, they spent a lot of time together, and they even cooked their first meal together: caramelized onions! One wise man even called them the cutest couple at Isle (although they were not yet dating). At the end of spring break, the pandemic sent everyone home, and this meant that Walker and Anna would not be able to see each other in person for a long time. During this time, they texted throughout the day, every day, for several months. After what Anna claims to be "a very long time," Walker finally asked Anna if she was free to FaceTime, and the two discussed their feelings for one another and the possibility of long-distance dating. Shortly thereafter, they started dating on a kayak in Mebane, North Carolina. After many, many amazing memories and moments together, things came full circle when Walker proposed on a canoe in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Both Walker and Anna now live in Bethesda, Maryland, and they are very grateful to have a normal, close-distance relationship for the first time. The most amazing part of Walker and Anna's journey together has been how God has perfectly put the correct pieces in play at the correct times for their relationships with Him and with one another to continuously grow. And to think that this all started with a game of spoon assassins...
