First and foremost, we want you to be comfortable! But we would suggest semi-formal or dressy casual attire.
We will be having a dinner buffet. The options will include roast round of beef, chicken marsala, penne pasta with alfredo sauce, redskin mashed potatoes, vegetable medley, salad, rolls, and of course, a variety of desserts!
We will be having a live swing big band! This type of jazz music was popular during the 1930's-1940's. It is fun, classic, upbeat, and nostalgic. We will also be playing some more modern songs in between sets. It is sure to be a great time so wear some shoes you will be able to bust a move in!
Unfortunately, we will not be offering a shuttle service to/from the reception venue.
We are so grateful for your generosity and appreciate your help in starting our new household. We have been having some technical issues with the Zola registry, so we are not adding any more items at the moment. If you feel led to give us a gift, it can be anything you desire it to be. We sincerely thank you for thinking of us!
We will be having a full wedding mass. This will include Scripture readings, the exchange of vows and rings (Marriage Rite), followed by communion (Liturgy of the Eucharist). If you are not Catholic or do not feel led to receive communion, you can receive a blessing instead by crossing your arms across your chest when going up for communion. There will be various people around who you can observe for guidance and cues throughout the mass.
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has the following description on their website: Sacred Scripture begins with the creation and union of man and woman and ends with "the wedding feast of the Lamb" (Rev 19:7, 9). Scripture often refers to marriage, its origin and purpose, the meaning God gave to it, and its renewal in the covenant made by Jesus with his Church. Man and woman were created for each other. By their marriage, the couple witnesses Christ's spousal love for the Church. One of the Nuptial Blessings in the liturgical celebration of marriage refers to this in saying, "Father, you have made the union of man and wife so holy a mystery that it symbolizes the marriage of Christ and his Church." The Sacrament of Marriage is a covenant, which is more than a contract. Covenant always expresses a relationship between persons. The marriage covenant refers to the relationship between the husband and wife, a permanent union of persons capable of knowing and loving each other and God. The celebration of marriage is also a liturgical act, appropriately held in a public liturgy at church.
