It all started when Sam walked up to Aster Cafe for Matt & Amy's rehearsal dinner on September 10th, 2020. She immediately saw a handsome guy in a navy button up and grey slacks, and asked "who is that?!" Amy responded with "That's Andrew, he's the Best Man... he's a great guy! From Mankato, but lives in Denver!" Sam was sold. She tried to get his attention for the rest of the night, but he was having too good a time seeing all his friends from back home again. However, the next day Sam made sure to wear a yellow dress so he couldn't miss her. She also stepped on his feet a few times, but Andrew didn't respond - instead he asked someone else to dance, much to Sam's disappointment. But then after the wedding ended and everyone was looking for a bar to go to (during Covid, mind you) - Andrew came up to where a barefoot Sam was standing & said he'd carry her (very tall) shoes to whatever bar they found. So they walked arm-in-arm, sat down at Nye's, and talked until the bar closed down a couple hours later... A year of long distance between Seattle & Denver before Andrew decided to move to the west coast, and the rest is history! Fun fact - we're excited to be celebrating 5 years together on our wedding day, just down the road from where we met!
