Wedding Party

Wayne Benton

Best Man

Nicholas, Little Bear, Hobbit, Nicky Parm. We met on our 1st day at ASU. He really wanted a friend that was black and I really wanted a friend with a BMW so our friendship was meant to be. What can I say, eight years later, we're besties and still bumping Childish and Avril Lavigne. You get me, brother. You're welcome for introducing you to Kelly, now let's get you married. - Wayne

Jillian Benton

Matron of Honor

Jill and I's friendship began in 7th grade gym class where we bonded over our lack of athleticism. Each day, we'd spend the majority of those 90 minutes singing and dancing on the sidelines. As the year came to a close, and 7th grade gym class came to its inevitable end, it was our mutual love for sugar and adventure that kept us close. Eighth grade was spent the same as seventh. Singing, dancing to Disney soundtracks, and eating hagelslag (Dutch sprinkles) on bread with butter. Highschool was no different. The core of our bond was candy. Over the years our friendship's remained the same. The only real difference is that we're slightly, (I repeat, slightly), more conscious of our sugar intake. - Kelly

Mark Mingura

Groomsman

When I first met Little Bear we were in high school. One of the first things I remember him saying to me was "you take one step for every two I do", it's because you're short bud. He soon left our school after one of his countless surgery-requiring injuries. A few years later we started hanging out in college and it was like Nick hadn't changed one inch! He's been looking up to me ever since. Love ya man, I'm honored to be a groomsman.- Mark

Katelin Miller

Bridesmaid

Like Jill, Katelin and I also met in junior high. However, it wasn't until highschool that our friendship became something to write home about. While we spent the early years of our friendship alongisde Jill singing, dancing to Disney soundtracks, and eating hagelslag, it was highschool "dance parties" that really brought us together. Jill wasn't one for "grinding trains" but I could always count on Kate to accompany me to Rockin' R Ranch on a friday night. (For those of you that are unaware, Rockin' R Ranch is a venue in Gilbert, AZ that hosts highschool dance parties as well as weddings and other adult gatherings.) The base of our friendship was (and is) food and rap music. - Kelly

Tanner Haro

Groomsman

Apparently we went to Jr. High together but I have no memory of that, he certainly does cause he reminds me of how much he hated me then. My first memory with Nick was freshman year of high school when we were running sprints (with cleats) and he didn't stop in time and ran into the pavement, slipped, broke some stuff, and the ambulance had to come. I've come to learn that this is a very common type of memory to have with Nick. He also helped me talk to a senior hottie when we were freshman so I knew he was an OG friend. - Tanner

Kendra Swanson

Bridesmaid

Kendra made her way into the friendgroup about halfway through highschool. I loved her instantly because like me, she was incable of using her inside voice. With us both having loud voices and personalities, the two of us became quite the not so quiet pair. As time went on, Kendra continued to make her way into my heart by baking delicious, beautifully crafted homemade cupcakes. And on top of being an A+ pastry chef, she also makes and excellent hype man. (We made a "music video" together to the song London Bridge by Fergie. I was Fergie. She was my hype man.) - Kelly

Colton Randolph

Groomsman

Growing up, it seemed like I saw Nick everywhere: school, football, baseball, hell, he even lived in the same neighborhood! I figured we’d always be competing against each other, but as it turns out, we veered off to different high schools. It wasn’t until after graduation that Wayne made a mention about meeting some kid at Arizona State’s summer school program that sounded awfully familiar. Sure enough, it was the same baby-faced Nick Calley, just a much hairier version than I remembered. Being just as tall as he was wide (or as Nick would say, broad), it became painfully obvious that a new “first” impression took the form of a bear. Naturally, I started calling him Little Bear and the nickname stuck. - Colton

Ashley Benton

Bridesmaid

From the moment I first met Ashley I knew that I wanted to be her friend. But being that she was clearly too cool for me, I didn't think I'd ever have the chance. Ashley is Wayne (the best man's) sister. So thanks to that connection, I found an in. Upon getting to know eachother, we quickly became friends. Ashley is my muse, the person I look to for reassurance in my fashion endeavors, and my favorite person to follow on Instagram. - Kelly

Chayne Susich

Groomsman

I honestly could not even tell you when I first met Nick. It feels like I have known him my whole life, but we were probably about five years old when we became friends. From growing up together to going to elementary school, high school, and college together, to being roomates we have literally been through it all. - Chayne

Pame' Jimenez

Bridesmaid

Pame' is proof that you can make good, lasting friendships as an adult. We met about a year and a half ago when Nick and I were living in Denver. We helped run a start up boutique together and bonded over work stress and wine. We clicked from the start, and spent most of our time at work laughing and planning for my future wedding. (This was before I actually got engaged.) Too soon after we'd become good friends, Nick and I had to move back to Phoenix. Luckily, only a few months later, she too ended up relocating to AZ. - Kelly
