"Whale, hello there!" Tim and Sam met on a dating app in July 2018. They had their first date a few weeks later at Greene's Pourhouse in Neenah, WI. The conversation was effortless and the hours flew by as they discovered shared interests and swapped stories. By the time the night came to a close, a broken glass and all, there was an understanding this wasn’t the last time they’d see each other.

Tim and Sam were planning a routine visit to her parents in Minocqua, WI to celebrate her birthday. Tim suggested stopping at Rib Mountain State Park in Wausau, WI on the way up to look at the colorful autumn leaves. They found their way to the amphitheater near the peak just around golden hour, which offers breathtaking views from one of the highest points in the state. Tim shared his heart, got down on one knee, and asked, "Will you marry me?" Sam, without hesitation, said "Yes!!"
