For our fist date we went to Sisi Kay, a delicious Thai spot down the street form Wade's place, and hit it off immediately. Will had so many questions and Wade loved explaining things to him. We easily bonded over college running, enjoyment of the outdoors, and being east coast transplants in Seattle. Shortly after, we were hanging out almost everyday. We just could not get enough of each other!
After hosting a St. Patrick's Day party, we went for a walk around Green Lake. About a mile from home, we encountered a man selling corgi puppies! Will had spent months convincing Wade that we NEEDED a puppy. One of our roommates at the time was a border collie and our landlord had limited us to only one dog in the house. But the puppies were so cute! Will called the landlord and asked if it would be ok to bring another dog into the house. She said no :( Just as we were about to walk away, she called back and said yes!! We picked out the most energetic puppy of the bunch and named her Trillian.
Despite Wade knowing a ring was on its way, Will managed to pull off a thoughtful surprise proposal! The ring was not going to be ready for a few months, but Will could not wait. He got a sapphire (Wade's birthstone) set into a ring so he could pop the question while we were on vacation at Wade's family lake house. He coordinated with Wade's family and after a lovely walk around the lake, he proposed! Wade barley let him get the question out before giving an emphatic yes! The family celebrated with champagne and snacks next to the lake.
