Joe and Kate managed to find each other despite being separated by nearly 100 miles when they began dating, finding the other’s companionship and love well worth the long nights and weekends spent commuting. After a couple of years it was time to take the next step together, ending the long-distance and beginning a new life together in Madison. Joe proposed to Kate on the top of Cana Island Lighthouse overlooking Lake Michigan, eager to start a life together, despite Kate’s protest that the lighting conditions were not ideal for a trip to the lighthouse. That same day Door County tried to separate them as they found themselves on opposite ramps of a departing ferry, but their love story convinced the ship to turn around so they could be reunited. With Joe moving to the Madison area, their new living situation was tested early on with the global shutdowns brought about by Covid-19, giving them the opportunity to spend lots of quality time with each other and figuring out how to strengthen their relationship. Over the last few years, Joe and Kate have had the opportunity to explore the country together, taking in National Parks, sporting events, concerts, and everything in between. They have particularly enjoyed trips to the Great Smoky Mountains, the Badlands, Utah, and exploring Kansas City. Their journey has been filled with laughter, adventures, and countless cherished memories. With hearts full of love and anticipation, Joe and Kate are thrilled to share their joy with family and friends as they begin this new chapter together as husband and wife!
