Davenport Cidery & Winery
Austin and I always enjoy a stop here when visiting Meadville! Located in the immediate area, you can enjoy a rotating selection of premium and limited small batch ciders and wines. Davenports also offers a selection of slushies and adult frozen cocktails. Pair your choice with gourmet sourdough personal flatbreads or small plates.
Drake Well Museum & Park
When Austin first brought me home to meet what would be my future family, this was one of our stops! The Drake Well Museum is a local attraction and small museum located in Titusville, PA. In 1859, the Drake Well struck oil and launched an industry that has forever shaped our modern world. Using orientation films, exhibits, oil field machinery, and historic buildings, Drake Well Museum and Park tells the story of the petroleum industry’s birth in Pennsylvania and its growth into the global enterprise it is today.
The Spillway
The Spillway is one of those weird things to do in Pennsylvania that you want to try at least once. Thousands of giant Pennsylvania carp writhe near the surface of the water of the spillway. The fish are so dense that sometimes ducks can be spotted walking over the surface of the fish. The Spillway has become a local favorite and a part of family traditions.
Lake Erie

Erie Maritime Museum - Homeport of the U.S. Brig Niagara
50 min. Erie’s rich maritime heritage stretches beyond the original American settlement at Presque Isle Bay in 1795. Make visiting the Maritime museum and Brig Niagra a part of your voyage!
Scallywags Pirate Adventures
50 min. Although we never tried this, Austin and I got to watch the Pirate adventures from afar during a trip to Lake Erie. It looked SO FUN! For families, there is an option to set sail with an immersive experience with performed storyline, activities, games and more. There is also a Wobbly Pirate Adventure filled with music, dancing, and drinks where you can party like a pirate (21 and over only)
Presque Isle State Park
50 min. Presque Isle State Park, a National Natural Landmark, is a 3,200-acre sandy peninsula that arches into Lake Erie. The park offers visitors a beautiful, sandy coastline and many recreational activities, including swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, bicycling, and even surfing!
Erie Bluffs State Park
50 min. A scenic area to enjoy in the Lake Erie Area.
Presque Isle Downs & Casino
45 min. Part of the Churchill Downs Incorporated family, Presque Isle Downs & Casino is located in the Erie area! Try your hand at slots, table games, and more. Multiple dining options are also available here.
North East
1 hour If you are interested in visiting some wineries, consider going to North East. Located North of the Erie Area, North East offers many small wineries to enjoy!
Keystone Safari
40 min. South Located near Grove City, the Keystone Safari is a great option for families and children. They have areas to walk and drive through, as well as a zipline!
Grove City Premium Outlets
40 min. South Another activity option in the Grove City Area for those who love shopping!
