Laura and Marco met in NYC (Upper East Side), as Marco was hunting for a Chase umbrella in Laura's branch! They fumbled through a first date at Dos Caminos (during which Marco allegedly paced the meal too slowly for the waiter). Subsequent dates included various restaurants (Spice Market, Naya, Fig & Olive), long walks throughout the city, exploring rooftops (Viceroy), and a bit of dancing (Lavo, etc)!

Marco surprised Laura with a proposal at Shark Fin Cove, by Santa Cruz, CA at dusk on March 23, 2018; they met after work and enjoyed oysters and wine in Half Moon Bay, and Laura even saw her first whale! After leisurely driving down the coast, and climbing down to this unique beach, the trap (with photographer waiting!) was set - and out came the ring!
