On Thursday, February 16, 2012, Johnny and 3 of his friends participated in their weekly ritual of Thursday-Boneless wing day at Buffalo Wild Wings before playing intramural basketball at State Gym. On Thursday, February 16, 2012, Emily was working her weekly shift as a server at BWW. Normally during this semester of college, she worked once per week on Friday evenings. However, this week was different because she was taking a weekend trip to Chicago with all of her ISU girls! SO, as fate would have it, she switched shifts to work on Thursday. Johnny was sat in Emily's section. She noticed right away a tall, dark and handsome guy with a great laugh and was excited he was at her table. He noticed a beautiful waitress with a great smile who was really easy to talk to. After a visit full of wings Johnny wasn't sure if he would ever see her again, but he had a plan. Johnny and friends leave so Emily starts cleaning up their table. Oh no! Johnny forgot his leftovers! She put the container in the server station temporarily (people often come back once they realize) and started entering the receipt information into the system. What does she find on his receipt? You guessed it! A mediocre tip 😉 + Johnny's phone number. Fortunately for him, he had *accidentally* left his wings, giving Emily a convenient reason to text back! One week later, after a week of texting and cyber stalking, they went on their first date. Three months later they already knew they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. Six-and-a-half years later, after years of long-distance and growing together along the way, they finally make that official and get engaged. One-and-a-half years after that, they will start their marriage journey in the presence of loved ones, and cannot wait!
