Ask about the murder. Some family members even have stories. :)
A fantastic park up on the hill of Duluth. Includes a tower and a Japanese Garden visited by a couple presidents!
Brewery and Restaurant!
Our favourite gin!! An absolutely fantastic distillery spot for drinks and snacks. Victoria didn't think she liked Gin until she had Vikre.
Victoria's favourite cidery!! Check out the seasonal flavor. Apple Pie was released last fall and was delicious. Food is not offered on site but has restaurants near by.
Brewery and pizza spot!
Breakfast joint and coffee shop in Canal Park.
Native American Tacos!! We went to their original location in Grand Marais on the weekend we got engaged. They're delish!
Great smoked fish spot!
Amazing ice cream- yes, even when it’s cold!
If you drive up the shore, make it up to Betty's Pie's. It's worth the drive plus the stunning views. The pie list is extensive and amazing! We took Katherine on a Waterfall Adventure Day (hitting as many of the waterfalls on the North Shore as we could) and on the way home, swung to Betty's pies, drove back under the tunnel to the pull out on the other side, and ate our pies while staring out at the greatest Great Lake, in damp swimsuits.
Victoria’s favourite hiking spot! There’s a beach (when it’s warm) and incredible cliff views. Stop in to the warning house and, if the path isn’t snow packed, go for a view of the highest waterfall in Minnesota!
The most photographed in the United States- with a lighthouse run by the state park service! We love the views from down below and recommend taking a tour to warm up. If the weather is cooperative, one trail in the park leads to a chimney- all that's left behind of what one man had attempted to build as a cabin, for a fiancée. Please don't build cairns. Some poor soul has photos of us in the background of their wedding kicking over all that were built on the beach. Building one off of a path, and especially in areas where there's sensitive ecosystems along waterways disturb breeding grounds for cornerstone species.
A great site to get some (chilly) but really cool family photos!
Can be tight parking but unbeatable views! Not for the faint of heart with heights! Brandon loves it, V is more wary.
Beautiful little city on the lake. Lots of art galleries and boutiques. Eat at the world famous Sven and Ole’s pizza, a popular spot for those who leave the boundary waters wilderness off of the bungling trail. Do not fail for the Moose Viewing Trail!! Unless you want to see a 1960s police car that’s been shot up, with a tree growing out of it.
