AIRPORT ARRIVAL TIP: After collecting your luggage and exiting customs, you will walk through a large area where many people will be offering transportation, tours, timeshares, and excursion packages. We recommend politely declining these offers and continuing toward the exit. (Pro Tip!! If you're hungry while at the airport, grab a taco or burrito at Tacón de Marlin located at the bottom of the footbridge near the taxi stand. Some say the best marlin taco in PV, yum!) TAXI INFORMATION: Getting to the Hotel Area: A local taxi ride from the airport to the Villa Premiere / Hotel Zone area typically costs around 300–400 MXN pesos (approximately $15–20 USD, depending on exchange rates) and takes about 20-30 min depending on traffic. Taxi rates are fixed. You will need to exit the airport property and have pesos on hand (see below instructions) How to Find a LOCAL TAXI (white car): 1) Exit the airport terminal after baggage claim/customs. 2) Turn left and continue walking outside to the pedestrian footbridge. 3) Cross the bridge over the roadway. 4) On the other side, you'll see taco stands and a line of white taxis. Drivers (wearing white shirts) will typically greet you at the bottom of the bridge and take you to a cab, which may or may not have A/C 5) Confirm your destination with the driver before departing. Fares are fixed by the city and based on arrival "zone" (note: you will need Pesos for the trip + tip; credit cards are not usually accepted) PRIVATE SHUTTLE/TAXI: Pre-Booked Private Shuttles and Taxis (best for groups or if you have a lot of luggage) How to book: Arrange transportation online before your trip through services like Viator or Amstar. Cost: Starts around $45-$60 USD for standard zones and increases for larger groups or luxury vehicles. Perks: A driver will be waiting for you, holding a sign, and escort you to their air-conditioned vehicle.

Travel Note
Tipping customs in Puerto Vallarta are similar to those in the United States. A cash tip (pesos) of 15–25% is appreciated for service provided at restaurants, bars, and for hotel staff/taxi drivers/tour guides, etc. We encourage tipping housekeeping each morning (50-70 pesos) as the staff often changes daily. Pesos are strongly preferred over US dollars.
