Pesos are readily available at bank ATMs throughout the city. Credit cards are also widely accepted but cash is customary (and sometimes the only option) for taxis, tips, and smaller purchases. Is it safe to drink the water? Drink ONLY bottled or filtered water during your stay. Hotels and restaurants serve only filtered water/ice. Food is fresh, safe and delicious.

Shuttles will depart for Miguela (venue) from Villa Premiere at approximately 5:30pm. If you prefer to use your own transportation (Uber, Taxi) it's about a 15 minute ride. Is the evening outdoors? Yes. The celebration will be outdoors, and it will likely be warm & humid. We recommend flat-bottomed shoes as the dinner is in a garden. Please see the Schedule tab for more details. Will dinner be served? Absolutely, please come hungry! Dinner, drinks, dancing, and plenty of celebration await. We will have vegetarian and gluten-free options available. When does the party end? Why Puerto Vallarta? Puerto Vallarta has become one of our favorite places. We absolutely love everything it has to offer: the welcoming people, fantastic food, beautiful scenery, and laid-back, tropical atmosphere. We even got engaged there! In our opinion, there’s little better than enjoying a meal by the beach, watching the sunset, and spending time with the people you love. It felt like the perfect place to bring together our family and friends to celebrate this special milestone event. We hope Puerto Vallarta captures your heart as it has ours! What's the best thing I can bring? Your bathing suit, a little dance fever and an appetite for a great time. And sunscreen. Is there something meaningful about the hummingbirds? The hummingbird has special significance in Mexican culture and personal meaning to us: - Represents courtship, affection, and lasting bonds between two people - Embodies joy, lightness, and positivity: a playful spirit inspiring happiness in those around them. When depicted in pairs or trios, hummingbirds symbolize joy shared with loved ones and community. - Exhibits courage, determination, and resilience. Hummingbirds aren’t deterred by difficult odds, which makes them an apt symbol for overcoming adversities with spirit and tenacity. - Signifies vitality, passion, and an enthusiasm for life. They’re also thought to inspire similarly energetic behavior and motivation in people. - Acts as messengers of ancestral spirits/loved ones who have passed away and who are trying to convey a message of reassurance from the afterlife.
Currency: USD or Pesos? Pesos (MEX) are strongly preferred and easily accessible at ATMs across the city. We typically grab some pesos at the airport ATMs as we exit baggage claim, and then replenish as we go. Recent exchange rates are approximately 1 USD$ = 17MEX. Credit cards are also widely accepted but cash is generally preferred! Tipping (Yes!): Puerto Vallarta is a primarily tourist-driven economy and residents are highly dependent on and very appreciative of tips. Use similar tipping customs (15%-25%) as you would in the US. Housekeeping is customarily ~50-70MEX/day and we recommend leaving a tip each morning as staff often changes daily. What airport should I fly into? Puerto Vallarta is serviced by Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR), approximately 20–30 minutes from the main hotel area. How do I get from the airport to the hotel? - Local Taxis (inexpensive option): After collecting your luggage (and politely bypassing the airport timeshare and activity sales representatives), walk out of baggage claim, turn left, and follow signs over the pedestrian bridge to the local taxi stand (about a 5 min walk). Taxi fare is typically around 300–400 pesos (~ $15–20 USD), depending your exact destination. - Rideshare (another inexpensive options): is also widely available but will require you to leave the airport property to meet your ride - Scheduled shuttles/cars: Plentiful with reservations typically required a few days in advance. - Rental cars: Not recommended Do I need a passport? Yes. A valid passport is required for travel to Mexico.
