Getting Married During Covid

2020 is some year...

This year has been full of surprises and change of plans for just about everyone, and when we got engaged last August, we definitely weren't anticipating having to throw our wedding together during the pandemic of the century (at least we hope this is the biggest one). When this all started we hoped, like I think everyone did, that this would blow over by the time summer and fall came around. We now know better, this is here to stay and while the numbers aren't anywhere near as scary as they looked in March, Covid will be heavily dictating a lot of aspects of our big day. Regardless of the complications, we are motivated to move forward with our wedding as planned. If the covid pandemic has taught us anything, it's that time is never guaranteed, for anyone or anything. Pushing it off until next year won't offer any more solid reassurance or proof that it will be safer or that everyone will be able to come. Anything can happen at any time, highly contagious pandemic or not. Trying to postpone life isn't feasible, let alone reasonable when time is always moving us forward regardless if we want it to or not, and right now we are incredibly lucky and blessed to have all of our family with us and healthy to share this moment with. With all of that in mind, we've had to do a lot of replanning, from changing our reception venue to unfortunately trimming down our guest list to meet the maximum number of guests allowed for both the church and outdoor venue (100 in CT at this time for both). We will be following all the regulations to have the safest wedding we can achieve. We are aware that regardless of the precautions, some of our guests may still not feel comfortable attending or especially traveling. We understand any hesitation or declination to attend, we support that decision whole-heartedly. We won't bregrudge anyone who feels more comfortable declining our invitation, we love you regardless and would rather you be and feel as safe as possible! Please don't hesitate to reach out with any concerns or questions regarding our ceremony and reception. You can also find some more information regarding the policies and changes we have had to make that I've added to the FAQ page of this website. We send all our love and hope to see you soon!
