We don’t! We have had our house for almost 3 years and don’t need items. Instead of gifts, it is customary to bring lì xì to a Vietnamese wedding. Lì xì refers to giving red envelopes filled with money as a gesture of good luck, happiness, and prosperity. While it’s most commonly seen during Lunar New Year, it is also a meaningful wedding tradition. Guests gift lì xì to bless the newlyweds with good fortune as they begin their life together, and the red envelope symbolizes joy and protection. If you do not have a red envelope, we will have some at the wedding so you can just bring cash :)
Please wear semi-formal attire. Darker colors such as dark green, maroon, navy, etc. are encouraged but not required!
As of right now, we only have a limited number of seats reserved for our smaller wedding. We have already directly reached out and invited “plus ones” for the wedding. If we have any room, we will let anyone inquiring know as soon as all of our RSVPs have made it in. Please do not hesitate to ask either of us for clarification if needed!
