Travel Note
We will be arriving on October 30th and departing on November 2nd Transport during the wedding weekend: We’ll be providing group transport for key parts of the weekend, so guests won’t need to organize all travel themselves. Please note that coach pick-ups will be from a small number of central locations within St Andrews, rather than from individual hotels or surrounding villages. This helps keep timings smooth and ensures transport runs efficiently for everyone. If you’re staying slightly outside St Andrews, we recommend allowing time to take a local taxi into town for pick-up, or directly to the venue/event location. Taxi details are included elsewhere on this page. Exact pick-up points and timings will be shared closer to the date, once plans are finalized — but the overall aim is to make getting to and from the main events as easy and stress-free as possible. Below are travel details:
Flight
Most guests should fly into Edinburgh (EDI). It’s the closest major airport and is 1 hour from both the venue and St. Andrews. Glasgow (GLA) is a solid alternative and often good for direct US routes. The airport is 1.5 hours from the venue and 1 hour 45 minutes to St. Andrews.
Train
You can take the Scotrail in Edinburgh from Haymarket up to St. Andrews and transfer to the 77 to get downtown. You can also take Scotrail up to Cupar which is close to the venue and plan to take a taxi.
Travel Note
If you’d like the simplest journey (especially after a long flight), book a private transfer from the airport to St Andrews or Birkhill. This is the most comfortable option if you’re arriving with luggage, or travelling in a group. Rental Car
We will be renting a car to take the scenic route for the wedding weekend. Please note that Scots drive on the left. If you’re planning to rent a car, build in a little decompression time after landing and make sure you feel comfortable with the adjustment.
Travel Note
Please feel free to browse hotel and Airbnb options on the attached Gsheet - let me know if you have any issues. A lot of accommodations will not release availability until around 6 months out.
