How do you describe the most incredible and handsome man alive?….. It’s gonna take awhile and I don’t have the character count 😉 Justin and I met in college and started dating a few months later while camping (would you expect anything else?). We decided pretty early on that this was forever. We both had goals and aspirations. We wanted financial stability, job security, and higher education. We decided that rushing into marriage and trying to afford a wedding just wasn’t in the cards anytime soon. What’s the rush? Together we set out for the perfect (never flawless) plan of achieving our goals—together—for 11 years…. What did we do for 11 years? Adventure and education! We traveled around the world for work, hiked mountains together, trained for ultramarathons, explored unique cities and destinations and spent time with family. Why did we wait so long? Well life isn’t just lemonade. After the passing of Jared, 5 years into our relationship, wedding and marriage was the last thing on our minds. Happiness just sounded distasteful. When Rebekkah was diagnosed two years later, again, just felt wrong to bring such a conversation of joy into tragic memories and stressful conversations. Time doesn’t last forever though, life comes and goes. However Justin was able to make one of my all time dreams a reality. To have Rebekkah apart of my wedding. He contacted Rebekkah earlier in the year in 2020 and with her help designed my beautiful wedding ring. On January 1, 2021 he proposed—Rebekkah was the first one we called. She was awake and so happy! Ten days later she passed away. I’ll never forget Justin’s decision to make that happen even though the timing just didn’t feel right. I know she won’t be here in person to celebrate wirh us, but she will always be on my ring finger and in my heart. Now that you’ve had a good cry—we are having an intimate Ceremony in Florida to honor my sister, but our reception in Michigan! We can’t wait to see you!
