Kristen and Sean met in January of 2021 and bonded over a shared love of the movie "Interstellar". In fact, they watched the movie on their second date! Kristen and Sean quickly started hanging out more frequently. Throughout school Sean attended a lot of Kristen's rowing events, and they both went to various Sorority/Fraternity events together. Kristen and Sean enjoy playing board games, watching good tv shows, playing 2 player video games, and exploring their local area. No two dates of theirs is the same! They like getting out and trying different things.
Going into the weekend of the proposal Kristen was misled by those closest to her. She thought that her family, (Susan, Jerry, and Maddie) were going to Indianapolis for a volleyball tournament (even though Maddie had a non-functioning ankle). Kristen also knew that Sean had to "pick someone up from the airport", when she questioned who Sean said "It's a friend from Riddle who lives in the area and needs a ride home"...Suspicious, but she went with it. Kristen was also under the impression that her nail appointment with Sean's mom in the morning was Sean's birthday gift to his mom. Kristen was supposed to pick up Chicago style deep dish pizza for lunch, then Kristen and Sean were going to go check out the Planetarium downtown. Obviously that was all the cover story. The morning of the proposal Kristen met up with Sean's mom for their nail appointment, which went smoothly (other than Kristen being ~5 minutes late). On the way home Kristen decided that she really just wanted to spend the day at home (as the previous weekend they moved into the new house). Kristen called Sean to tell him this, and also that she wanted pasta and NOT pizza for lunch. Sean, slightly peeved, agreed to make pasta for lunch, but said that they would discuss the planetarium trip when Kristen got home. So Kristen comes home and, to her surprise, Ally Germ (The Maid of Honor) is standing in her kitchen! This is who Sean was picking up from the airport. Sean and Ally convince Kristen that Ally just really really REALLY wants to go to the planetarium, so after lunch (which was pasta btw). Sean picks out a dress for Kristen to wear to the planetarium and the three of them set off in an uber downtown. Once at the planetarium Kristen has fun going through the exhibits, but she keeps finding Ally and Sean seem distracted. Being a silly goose, she assumes that they are NOT interested in the planetarium and tries to speed up her time spent in each exhibit room. Little does she know...they are just stressing about what is to come. Kristen starts taking pictures of all of the signs so they can get out of there quick. Once they start to leave, Ally and Sean disappear for what felt like 20 minutes. Then as quickly as they disappeared, they reappear and head for the doors. Interestingly enough...no one seems to want to walk next to Kristen. Ally is staying back a little ways and Sean is practically sprinting. He keeps insisting that if they walk around the path outside of the planetarium they will be able to see the telescope inside. Kristen keeps trying to explain that there is no telescope inside, because the big dome doesn't even open and is used for shows now, but Sean is on a mission! They walk past a lady with a big funny hat who ducks down as they pass, she turned out to be Sean's Aunt Tracy who was there to take photos. Sean finally pulls Kristen aside and gets down on one knee. (She said yes, if that wasn't clear) After photos are taken, Sean, Kristen, and Ally head to a rooftop bar, where they meet up with Ryan (The Best Man). The 4 of them hang out and bar hop around downtown for a bit, until they end up at a bar called King of Cups where they met up with Sarah (Kristen's sister and the officiant). Here they have their fortunes read. The fortune teller says that Kristen's spirits are sending her very vivid images of...you guessed it...pasta! Sean also planned a very lovely dinner for both families the following day and then got everyone to also take a tour of Fermilab National Laboratory (Kristen's Place of Work). Turns out Maddie is not actually playing volleyball at the tournament, the nail appointment was actually for Kristen, and Sean was not the one who wanted deep dish pizza (sorry Ally!). Overall it was the most perfect weekend...well maybe until April 04, 2027.
