Milni & Haldi Ceremony

12:00 pm - 3:30 pm

The Haldi ceremony is a joyful pre‑wedding ritual where a turmeric‑based paste is applied to the bride and groom by close friends and family as a blessing for prosperity, protection, and good luck. The ceremony will also include a Milni, a traditional welcome where the bride’s and groom’s families formally greet one another and exchange blessings, symbolizing the union of the two families. This intimate event is limited to close family members and the wedding party. Due to the size and nature of the celebration, the guest list is intentionally limited. Attire: Haldi can get a little messy! We recommend wearing something comfortable in lighter colors that you don’t mind getting a bit of turmeric on. Yellow, orange, or pastel tones fit the tradition beautifully (e.g., summer dresses, kurtas, sarees, lehengas, or shararas). The event will take place outdoors.

Welcome & Mehndi Party

6:00 pm

Khazana by Chef Sanjeev Kapoor
339 University Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94301

Graciously hosted by the groom’s sister and brother-in-law. Attendance is open to guests invited to the Haldi ceremony. The event will take place indoors Dress Code: Festive formal (Indian or Western) Guests are encouraged to wear bright, celebratory colors. Indian attire (lehenga, saree, kurta) or cocktail attire is appropriate. The Mehndi is a traditional pre‑wedding celebration where henna is applied as family and friends gather to celebrate, connect, and offer blessings to the bride—often one of the most joyful and festive events of the wedding. This evening also serves as a welcome celebration as we gather with family and friends ahead of the wedding weekend.
