Take the Roosevelt Island Tram to our island! We live on this tiny island and love it! The south side of the island has a beautiful park: Four Freedoms Park (this closes around 7pm so get there early) and the north side has a really cool lighthouse! There are some shops, restaurants, and if you’re really lucky, you will see the cutest dog in the world trotting around! Pippin would love to see you!
Visit & walk along the high line! This is super close to the venue! Who wouldn’t want to see a 16-foot tall pigeon!
Go see a Broadway show! (The real reason anyone comes to NYC)! If you aren’t sure if you will like a musical, we recommend &Juliet! If you already know you love musicals… Martin’s favorite right now is: Hadestown at The Walter Kerr Theatre Victoria’s favorite is: Wicked at The Gershwin Theatre
Walk around and see some beautiful foliage or take a rowboat around in Central Park! One of our favorite places in the city. Bethesda Fountain (Friends fountain), Tavern on the Green, Alice in Wonderland Statue, Belvedere Castle, and so many other amazing places to see! The Met, Guggenheim, and Museum of Natural History are also very close!
We hope the weather is perfect the whole time you are here, but if you need an indoor activity, we LOVE this escape room! I’m sure you’ve done or heard of escape rooms before but trust us, they are different, more complex, and so much more fun in the city! We have done many of them and will be coming back to do more!
Do some classic touristy things too! Sometimes those are the most fun! - Statue of Liberty (Take the free Staten Island ferry for the best views) - Times Square - Empire State Building - World Trade Center/Ground Zero - Ellis Island - Brooklyn Bridge - Rockefeller Center - Bryant Park - Carnegie Hall (Where Martin has performed twice!) - Madison Square Garden - Intrepid Museum - South Street Seaport - Washington Square Park (walk around NYU and see where Victoria went to college) - Union Square Park - Madison Square Park (Pippin’s favorite dog park is here!) - St. Patrick’s Cathedral - 5th Ave Shopping - Grand Central Station - Little Island (very close to the wedding venue) - Chelsea Market (yummy food very close to wedding venue) & don’t forget to take the subway at least once! If Victoria can do it and not get lost (most of the time), you can for sure do it! All a part of the NYC experience! We hope you love it as much as we do!
