Victoria and Jack met casually during their time at Miami University. They both studied engineering and were athletes on Miami's athletic teams; Victoria ran sprints and hurdles on the track team and Jack was an offensive lineman and punt shield God on the football team. They did not officially get to know each other until April of Victoria's senior year, two years after Jack graduated. After bonding over their mutual love of Marvel, they had their first date when Jack came back to Miami, and they met up at a softball game. Their feelings continued to grow over some tequila tough guys at CJs, and the rest is history.
We took a vacation to Hocking Hills as a belated Valentine's day gift. As Jack was researching places to pop the question, he found a place called Chapel Cave and knew that was the place. On Saturday, April 20th, we set out with Cruz, our golden retriever, to go spend the day hiking. Jack entered the address to get to the cave, and we arrived at a parking lot with no directions of how to actually find it. After about 30 minutes of walking down the path, he spotted some fencing at the top of a large hill. We hiked up and found the cave! As I was looking through the cave and taking some pictures, he slipped the ring box out of his backpack, and popped the question! We called our loved ones and friends to celebrate, and then spent the rest of the day with minimal cell service while he debriefed me on everything. He also informed me that there would be a small engagement party the next day with our families. Our families gathered the next day at his parent's house to celebrate the engagement. We popped champagne and feasted on pulled pork and cheesy potatoes. We wouldn't have it any other way!
