A mutual friend had been telling us about each other for months. Every time we talked about what we were looking for in a partner, "Y'all really need to meet each other" would come out of Michelle's mouth. Then, one night at a party our mutual friend was DJ'ing, she leaned into Gavin & yelled, "HEY, THAT'S HER OVER THERE!" A couple of weeks later, we were on our first date.

It was the last day of our camping trip to NC and we decided to go on one of our favorite hikes in Highlands. The plan was to take a dip at the base of a waterfall and enjoy the beautiful summer weather. Instead of taking our usual path, Gavin suggested we make a quick stop at a lookout point along the hike. As we approached a beautiful spot overlooking the mountains with a waterfall behind us he got down on one knee. I, of course, said yes, but that wasn't the only surprise he had in store. He told me to turn around where two of my closest friends, Lindsay and Maria, were filming the whole thing. There were tears, champagne, and a lot of photos taken.
