What should I wear to the wedding?

Answer

The dress code for the wedding is black tie attire, meaning floor-length gowns for women and tuxes with black neckties or bowties for men. Color is appreciated and encouraged!

What time will the ceremony begin?

Answer

Guests are welcome at 5:00 pm for a prompt 5:30 pm start.

What will happen after the ceremony?

Answer

There will be a cocktail hour, followed by a seated, multi-course dinner, followed by dancing.

Will any part of the evening be outdoors?

Answer

Yes, the ceremony will (hopefully) be outdoors.

What is the weather like in New York this time of year?

Answer

New York weather in September is generally pleasant and comfortable, with temperatures cooling as the city transitions from summer to autumn. Daytime temperatures range between mid-60s to mid-70s, and nights can drop into the 50s. You’ll want a light jacket or sweater for the evenings.

Will transportation to the wedding be provided?

Answer

We will be providing transportation to and from both the Opus and the Sonesta, where we have our room blocks. Uber and Lyft, while available in White Plains, are extremely limited for pick up from Blue Hill at Stone Barns, so please plan ahead if you will not be using the transportation provided.

Will there be parking onsite at the venue?

Answer

Blue Hill at Stone Barns will have valet service available upon guest arrival.

What is the dress code for the welcome party?

Will transportation also be provided for the welcome party on Friday?

Answer

Transportation will be provided to and from Red Hat on the River. Buses will depart from both the Opus and the Sonesta at 6:00 pm and will be available to return guests to the hotels at the end of the evening. General parking will also be available.

Will dinner be provided at the welcome party?

Answer

Dinner, light bites, dessert, and an open bar will be available to our guests on both nights, including the welcome party. Come hungry!

What if I have a food allergy or specific dietary requirement?

Answer

Please make sure to note this on your RSVP and the kitchen will accommodate you.

How can I learn more about Blue Hill at Stone Barns?

Answer

We highly recommend the chef's book, "The Third Plate: Field Notes on the Future of Food" by Dan Barber. Barber was also featured on the second episode of Chef's Table on Netflix.
