Question

What is the theme of the wedding?

Answer

We will be celebrating our Celtic backgrounds, so the ceremony and reception will feature Irish and Scottish customs, outfits, and music. Dan's family is Scottish so he and the groomsmen will be wearing kilts. Victoria has Irish in her roots so the colors for the wedding will be green, gold and white. A hand fasting ceremony, which is both Scottish and Irish, will happen on December 12th!!! What better place to do a Celtic themed wedding than at a castle! Since the wedding is in December, rustic and winter decor will also be incorporated.

Question

What is the attire for the wedding?

Answer

Formal attire for the ceremony and reception for all guests. Kilts are welcome!

Question

What time should I arrive at the venue?

Answer

Our ceremony will begin promptly at 3:30, so guests should arrive with ample time to look around the castle, head to the balcony, and find a seat.

Question

Will the venue be able to accommodate dietary restrictions?

Answer

Yes. Shakespeare's is able to prepare meals that are vegetarian, gluten free, etc. Please make a note on your RSVP card when sending it back.

Question

What are the Bride and Groom's stance on Irish Goodbyes?

Answer

We ourselves have exited events in this fashion. When you gotta go, you gotta go, and formal goodbyes can take forever. Perhaps the bride and groom are deep in conversation with other guests, or one of them stepped out and who knows when they'll return. Getting to celebrate our wedding with our guests will be the highlight of our day. Irish Goodbyes are more than okay with us!

Question

Is there anything else we should know?

Answer

Please be aware that the ceremony will take place outside on the balcony of the event venue and will last approximately 20 minutes. While the balcony is partially enclosed and is equipped with heat lamps, guests should wear appropriate attire to be outside for the duration of the ceremony.
