Our Love Story

First comes college, then comes marriage

We met at college during freshman orientation. We quickly became friends, and shared many laughs with our similar quirky sense of humor. We spent a lot of time joking about little things while completing class assignments or studying, or while having a meal in the cafe. We both started out as Forensic Science majors, but V ended up graduating with a Biology Pre-Med degree. After graduation, V moved back to Connecticut and Dan moved to Ocean City, MD where he became a police officer. He ended up moving back to his hometown of Slippery Rock, PA. V was accepted into a Medical Technology program. She graduated and passed her board exam a year later, then got a job. In March, 2022 she packed up her things and moved to Pittsburgh. It ended up being the best decision of her life! We immediately reconnected. Our friendship picked up where it left off, and we soon found ourselves laughing and sharing deep thoughts together. We went on many adventures including camping and kayaking trips, Penguins and Pirates games, trying out the many restaurants in Pittsburgh, and a never ending search for V's favorite coffee shop (there are a few top contenders, but no victor yet!). As our love of adventure continued, our love for each other deepened. We found ourselves spending more time together (or with together with our dogs Bear and Jager) every day. We enjoy taking trips, exploring new places and activities along the way. In September 2024, we started a trip in Eugene, Oregon that took us to places like the Florence sea lion caves, Bandon, OR, and Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. The next stop on our journey was Crater Lake National Park, where Dan secretly planned to propose at sunset atop Watchman Peak overlooking the lake. Unfortunately, rain started as we awoke in our tent among the redwoods, and followed us all the way to Crater Lake. We spent the afternoon surrounded in fog and rain, unable to see the lake below the visitor center. We spent a cold night in our tent, and the next day we waited for the sun to finally burn the remaining fog off. We made the steep hike up Watchman Peak as the fog dissipated and the crowd of eager tourists filled the parking lot below us. We were greeted at the summit to a breathtaking view of the deep, clear blue depths of the lake. Dan proposed there, and we can't wait to see what adventures await us in our future together.
